YouTube sucks because of the commercials. It is even worse than TV commercials, because there is a commercial between each video you want to watch, and it is usually the same commercial each time. Aaaahh! The question is now that YouTube has gone commercial, what will replace it?
I started taking a bootcamp class two days a week at my gym. I have been taking the class for a couple of months now, and it is seriously kicking my ass, and transforming my body in a very good way. I have always been in great shape. I go to the gym 5 days a week, play lots of basketball, work out, and mountain bike. And that is all good, because otherwise bootcamp would have killed me for sure. Instead, the base I had allowed me to jump into a class of people who have been doing this for years, and not look too bad. Lucky for me, a love things like burpees (up downs), jumping jacks, push-ups, sit up, and all of of those things you would think they do in an army bootcamp. The taibo moves I am not so good at because of the choreography, but I am getting better at that part slowly. Getting back to my point though, wow, if you belong to a gym, take the bootcamp class, and really push yourself. I am doing it, and am in better shape now than I have been for many years.
I made a video about a super cool networking tool that I developed for WildPackets, called Compass.
In the micro niche of network tools videos, my video is doing pretty good. Question is, will it go viral? Probably not, because from I read going viral is harder than winning the lottery. No doubt, there is plenty of room for improvement in my video. For example, it could be funnier, and humor is an important ingredient to going viral. And maybe I should hold a cute puppy or a bunny while talking.
For a first video though, I think it is not bad. In the title I used the words free and powerful. These are good lures, but maybe I should have used amazing, mind blowing, or spectacular. I also think the opening is welcoming, the energy is high, the hand movement is good, the voice fluctuations are not bad, and the exaggerations are compelling.
My daughter Ashley is a rising star in the wild and crazy world of event planning. She is very energetic and creative. Check out her blog called AshleyBloomEvents.
Yep, I wrote it. Go to check it out on download.com . Compass is a free tool for visualizing your network activity. It reads .pkt or .pcap files, so you need a sniffer that can save to one of those formats. Continue reading →
